The Treatment Process

The treatment process for scar removal and stretch mark removal are a bit different. When treating scars, the laser is used for gentle ablation of scar tissue and activation of collagen remodelling. The laser removes one or more surface layers of the scar tissue. Light energy is used to target the skin cells, and the laser is absorbed through the surface, allowing micro layers of skin to vaporize the scar tissue. This process triggers the production of new collagen and elastin in the skin.

When treating stretch marks, there are 3 steps that are used. In the first step, the skin is treated with the laser on Smooth Mode. This begins the process of controlled thermal energy passing to the deeper layer of the skin. The energy from the laser stimulates collagen production. In the second step, fractionated laser beams are used. These beams cause fractionated dermal injury by delivering heat to the stretch mark lines and adjacent tissue. In the third step, thermal laser energy is used to target the larger area of the skin being treated. This increases collagen production for smoother skin.
